| Scrambling Photos from Mount Ernest Ross | May 15, 2010 |
This is my fourth time up Mount Ernest Ross. A very easy and scenic scramble. To access it park at the small turnoff by Bridge Creek about 2 min North East of Two O'Clock Creek campground on the left side of the road. Follow the trail by Bridge creek for about 5 minutes. Follow a trail that branches up the slope marked with a cairn. The rest of the ascent follows a trail and is pretty straightforward.
There was plenty of snow near the top which made it more interesting this time. We also scrambled up the second peak in the snow which I would classify as difficult scrambling. It's very difficult to say which of the two peaks is higher. We took a gps reading on both and the second peak was 5 meters higher according to the gps. But weather was moving in a little and the pressure dropped which might have affected the reading
