play Up One Level not an important image Scrambling Photos from Ha Ling Peak and Miners PeakJune 13, 2010

Ha Ling Peak and Miners Peak are very popular short scrambles in the Canmore area. Their is a trail all the way to the top. You will likely have a lot of company on this ascent if you go during the summer. The trail head is accessed from the Goat Creek parking lot just past Whitemans Gap. Cross the road and go past the canal to a small building. The trail is behind the building.

I decided to do this ascent after already ascending Mount Sparrowhawk earlier this day. The weather was so nice I wanted to take advantage of it and also I wanted to whip myself back into shape. I decided that it was such an easy scramble that I didn't need to bring anything other than my poles, my shoes, a hat and my camera. I was right. Although I did get a little dehydrated from the heat during the ascent. I managed to quench my thirst with the snow patches on Miners Peak. The trail was very easy going and despite my previous exercise that day I managed to pass most people on the trail. The view from the top was nice. The weather was starting to change with clouds covering the sun and making it chilly. I headed down after getting the necessary panoramas
